Playing with the Shop Lights

Spent some time over the last few days working on some studio portraits using home made lights.

This is a self portrait shot using 1 set of 1000w standing shop lights (Home Depot - $29), 1 500w floor shop light (Home Depot - $12) and one desk spot with a 100w natural spot (Target - $6)

The 1000w light was 45deg camera left and behind as a main light.
The 500w was 45deg camera right as a fill.
The spot was sitting on a ladder camera left and behind the subject.

The amature photog does not need to spend $1000's on lights to get a good effect. :-D

Panorama of Memphis

One of the things I enjoy making is panoramas.

This is of the Memphis skyline.

I'm not really happy with the final image here on Fotopages. :-( It's mashed it down so far all of the detail has been lost.
